Blue Canyon Country Club Blue
Canyon Country Club recently hosted the Johnnie Walker Golf Classic where Tiger
Woods staged his stunning come from behind win. Located off the main highway north
of the airport turnoff.
Developed in 1988 from an old tin mine
and rubber plantations, both the golf courses are molded around the existing canyons
and rubber plantations, with minimal disruption to the natural landscape. It was
the belief of many that the land was made for a golf course. Following the success
of the challenging Canyon Course, the Lakes Course opened in 1999, offering a
whole new challenge to the game of golf with water hazards on 17 out of 18 holes.
It is a mixture of water-filled canyons created by open cast mining with its natural
land flow left relatively unchanged. See some Blue
Canyon Country Club photos taken during the Tigers Skin Tournament in 2005
with Colin Montgomerie, Retief Goosens , Thomas Bjorn and Grace Park. |
