All details about Faraway Liveaboard Trips
are now available at here

Faraway Sail and Dive Expeditions is proud to offer highly personalized holidays on board our fleet of purpose-built crewed sailing yachts.

  • Private charter.
  • Scheduled trips.
  • Catamaran and monohull yachts between 12 and 19 meter (42 and 63ft).
  • Sailing trips in Thailand, Malaysia, Burma and Andaman Islands.
  • Diving trips to Burma, Thailand and also the Andaman Islands.
  • Small groups, clean yachts, excellent food.

Whether the stuff your dreams are made of is a sunset sail around Phuket, a week diving in the little explored Mergui Archipelago, or a 3-week expedition trip to the Andaman Islands, you will probably find exactly what you are looking for with us.

You now have the chance to experience a cruise in what we think is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

When we make a statement like this we know what we talk about, as we have several world-circumnavigations between the four of us in Faraway Sail and Dive Expeditions.

Diving Phuket: Faraway Expeditions PhuketThe Mergui Archipelago was opened by the Burmese authorities for a few foreign yachts last year. Our yacht Colona II was one of them and she has now completed over 20 cruises in this area. This year she will be joined by the catamaran Amadeus. Perhaps unlike other operators, on both of our yachts groups are deliberately kept small, the maximum is 8 guests for Colona II and 6 for Amadeus.

The departure schedules and itineraries are similar for the two boats, but can of course tailored towards guest’s preferences.

Whether you are a diver or not, this area can offer you the trip of a lifetime. You will never forget the breathtaking scenery, you’ll see pristine rainforests, encounter rare animals and you can snorkel and dive on reefs that have never been dived before. We have always made a point of continuing to explore the area and have thus found some places so special, that we’d rather not describe them here.

During the entire cruise you will be unlikely to see any other yacht. The only humans you’ll encounter are the Moken Sea Gypsies who roam the area in their small boats, largely the way their ancestors have done for centuries. They are very friendly and like to visit for a chat or to barter some fish.

The diving and snorkelling can be very good, due to the limited amount of commercial fishing and the total absence of industrial pollution the waters are teeming with life. Some of the offshore sites we would not really recommend for the inexperienced diver.

In the itineraries you find 5,6 and 8-10 day trips. Generally the longer cruises are mainly tailored towards diving. During these cruises we will be out of sight of land for several days whilst diving the offshore sites. The shorter trips however, are very attractive for non divers as well as there is ample opportunity every day to go on land and explore the islands. Topography, flora and fauna are all outstanding.

Both yachts can be booked for private charter in which case duration, itinerary and activities can exclusively be tailored around your personal interests. We will be happy to suggest you an itinerary. Can you imagine a better and more romantic way to explore an area as unspoilt and fascinating as this than by sailing yacht ?
